Ben Reierson of Arlington won his first career win at the Arlington Raceway on Saturday August 3, 2024 in the Arlington State Bank IMCA Sport Modified feature during the Sibley County Fair. He stared on the front row of the race alongside Joey Reimers. The race went green to checkered with Reierson leading from the 2nd lap. Chris Neisen was in second but on lap 6 he was passed by Matt Looft. Looft tried to gain distance on Reierson and caught up to him and let him know he was behind him but it was Reierson who took the checkered flag first to win his first ever race at Arlington. Looft took 2nd and Neisen held on for 3rd.
There were three leaders in the Jack Pines Resort IMCA Hobby feature as Jonathan Schroeder led the first 3 laps from his front row starting spot. By lap 4 Nick McConnell had the lead with the 7c of Tyler Domeier moving up with him. Within 2 laps Cory Probst starting in 12th place was challenging McConnell for the lead. The next lap a yellow was thrown when the 30 of McConnell spun. That set Probst up to take the lead as McConnell had to restart in the rear of the field. Brad Becker stuck with Probst but was unable to get around him and settled for 2nd behind Probst and ahead of Chad Volk.
For the second week in a row Alan Lahr was victorious in the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact feature as he led from start to finish to win the race. There was a red flag at the start of the race when Broc Braunworth rolled his car in turn #3, he was ok but out of the race. Dale Gatton took 2nd and Justin Dose took 3rd.
Garett Uecker led the first 5 laps of the eXmark Outlaw Hobby feature, the following lap both the cars of Dan Eckblad and Karl Hewitt got around him at the same time. Then the two battled the distance with each other. On the 11th lap, Uecker caused a yellow flag and the race restarted with Eckblad and Hewitt once again racing each other. In the end, Eckblad won the race with Hewitt taking 2nd and Uecker was able to move back up into 3rd place ahead of Mark Oestreich.
The Rice Companies IMCA RaceSaver Sprint feature saw three different leaders with Bandon Buysse leading the first 5 laps, then teammate Rob Rawson passing him as the race restarted due to the 00 hitting a tire. After the restart, Matt Johnson took over the race and led the remaining to win ahead of Buysse. Brett Allen moved 5 spots to take 3rd ahead of Mike Stien.
Ryan Grochow was the early leader in the B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car feature taking the lead from the 2nd row. A yellow was thrown on the 2nd lap when the 71D of Shawn Bruns spun in turn #1. Grochow was able to hold onto the lead for four more laps until he and Ken Tietz racing side by side and Tietz taking over the lead. Cars were 4 and 5 wide going into the turns with drivers all vying for the lead. Half way through the race, Brent Uecker took the high side on the back stretch and passed Tietz for the lead. He then had to contend with Dan Mackenthun who had been moving up lap by lap. With 5 laps to go Mackenthun got by Uecker and held on for the win. Uecker took 2nd and Dave Moriarty took 3rd.
The Ottomotive Tire and Repair IMCA Modified feature saw three different leaders also. Paul Burger was the early leader as he started on the front row. By lap 4, Clint Hatlestad who had started in 7th was able to get around Burger for the lead. But he had company as the 11 of Trent Loverude once again had his sights on the front of the field. Both Hatlestad and Loverude raced side by side but it was Loverude who put his car in victory lane once again and Dan Menk was able to get around Hatlestad to take 2nd ahead of him.
