Extra money was on the line for the Rice Companies IMCA RaceSaver Sprint feature winner for the Dan Grams Memorial Night Saturday and there was three different drivers vying for the big paycheck. Andrew Allen won his first heat race and Chris Graf won a heat each picking up a $100 from GRP Motorsports. There was a foot race on the front stretch with the top 10 drivers to determine who would draw first and Andrew Allen won that as well picking up an extra $50 from Johnson Motorsports, he also won a 55 gallon of methanol from Rick & Jessica Linde and Joel & Katie Eckberg. In the feature Brandon Allen was the early leader as he led the first 7 laps until Trevor Serbus came up from behind in turn #4 and saw an opening to pass the 1300 Brett Allen on the top and then made an awesome move and slid under Brandon Allen to take the lead. They stayed in that order until a yellow was thrown when Kyla Anderson slid off the top of turn #2 bringing out the yellow. Then the following lap Hannah Graf brought out the yellow again for spinning out. When the race got back underway, Brett Allen managed to take the high groove and got around Brandon Allen to gain the 2nd place position. Brett wasn’t able to catch Serbus as he tried to reel in him but he was too far out front and Serbus took the win and the $1400 win. He also won the $130 Hardcharger which gave him a total of $1530 for the night. Brett took 2nd and Brandon took 3rd ahead of Chris Graf.
Aaron Brinkman led half of the Jerry’s Home Quality Foods Auto Cross feature but fell out of the race on the 6th lap with troubles. By then the 816 of Jake Trebesch was the leader and led the remaining laps distancing himself by driving around lapped traffic to win the race. Brenna Braunworth took 2nd and Cody Siefert took 3rd ahead of Emily McConnell.
George Motto was the early leader in the Jack Pines Resort as he led the first 4 laps from his pole position start. Him and Nick McConnell traded spots the 2nd lap and then there was a yellow the following lap which Motto again took the lead but it only lasted another lap as Cory Proust who had started 9th was moving forward lap by lap and by the 5th lap he had command of the race and went onto win. Motto was able to hold onto 2nd and Jordan Robinson took 3rd ahead of Chad Volk.
Gary Schumacher found himself once again in victory lane after starting on the front row of the feature he led from start to finish to win. Alan Lahr and Brock Braunworth battled each other for the 2nd spot exchanging positions for the first couple of laps but by the 4th time around Lahr had a solid 2nd and Braunworth had a solid 3rd.
The eXmark Outlaw Hobby feature saw 39x Dan Eckblad lead from start to finish winning again; Patrick Schauer stuck with him the distance to take 2nd ahead of Rod Manthey. Fred Heidecker pulled his car into pit area on lap 3 with a hot tire and George Motto as well as Kris Flewelling also had flat tires ending their racing night.
The Arlington State Bank IMCA Northern SportMod feature was flawless as the 1z of Zac Davis and Scott Koep started on the front row and wheeled around the track in that order. Ben Reierson got around Koep to challenge Davis but on lap 12 he exited the track. Half way through the race Matt Looft who had started 10th and was moving up fast to challenge the leaders but it was Davis who managed to cross the line first to win his first race of the season. Looft took 2nd and Eric Larson took 3rd ahead of Jeff Lloyd.
The B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car feature saw 3 and 4 wide racing side by side throughout the 20 lap feature. Dakota Robinson was the early leader with Tim Pessek on his tail. On the 7th lap, Robinson got too high driving into turn #1 and slid off the cushion losing several spots. That gave the lead to Dave Moriarty but two laps later Pessek was the leader until lap 12 when Dan Mackenthun made his move and took over the race. Pessek tried to regain but he was contending with Ryan Bjerkeset who had started 14th. With three laps to go, Bjerkeset slid by Pessek to gain 2nd place. Pessek held onto 3rd place ahead of Matt Looft.
Trent Loverude led the entire Ottomotive Tire & Repair IMCA Modified feature to win his 2nd consecutive win in a row. He was fast in the flawless race as he was able to get distance between himself and 2nd place finisher Clint Hatlestad by staying ahead of lapped traffic. Paul Burger had a solid 3rd place ahead of Todd Stinehart. c
